Mutual aid is the radical act of caring for each other while working to change the world.

 

We work together to understand what systems, structures, or institutions need to be changed so that all of us can thrive.

Mutual aid is not like the top-down approach of many community service organizations in which those who have enough set up rules and regulations for who deserves their charity. Mutual aid is as much about community support as it is about community organizing.

We believe that everyone deserves community, care, and to have their needs met.

Under the model of mutual aid, we work together to make sure those needs are met while at the same time reflecting together on why our neighbors do not have what they need.

  • strives for social solidarity not just charity,

  • and is built upon the understanding that everyone has needs that should be met and everyone has something to offer.
